FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS !

I am of Swedish and German descent and my birthday is the 27th of June.
I am very happily married and have been for many years.
I like collecting and watching old silent movies and the black and white
movies of the 20's, 30's, and early 40's. I also enjoy reading the biographies
of the black and white era movie stars and collecting their photographs and
autographs. If you have any and don't want them anymore, please let me know!
Maybe we could even work out a trade for some photo sets! :o)
What I would like to do someday is to take a real vacation, perhaps a
cruise so I could see what the ocean really looks like.
I stay in shape by doing a lot of outdoor work and I really love it! In the
winter, I shovel snow off of our drive way and roofs. In the spring and
summer, it's painting, fencing, lawn work and gardening . Fall means putting up
12 to 15 cords of wood for our winter heating needs.
For fun, I like to roller blade, ride motorcycle, target shoot, and
swim.
Music is very important to me as you might have guessed from my photos. A
jukebox is usually playing or I will have a tape or CD going while I answer my
email or do other work on the computer. I love player piano music, big
band, 50's & 60's Rock and Roll and 80's music. I also love to
dance!!!
My husband is my photographer and he seems to enjoy his work! :o)
I answer an average of 45 email per day.
I first starting posing for photos in March of 1997 and I really enjoy it!!

I grew up in the Grand Rapids resort area and was the eighth child out of ten. My mother and father divorced when I was about 4 years old.
One of my brothers and I were close buddies growing up and we shared a lot of the same
interests. We would swim, row boats, bicycle and make friends with all the tourist that would come from far away places every
summer.
In the winter there was sliding, building snow forts, ice skating and playing
hockey.
I was very close to my grandma growing up and she taught me many things and will always be
very special to me because of that. She always had a bowl of white rice, hot stew, bread or rolls
or Malto-Meal for us kids to eat
any time we were hungry.
All through school I was a very shy person and only had a couple good friends in each grade. I was proud to have set a record in grade school for
the arm hang and the broad jump and still held the record the last time I checked a couple years ago.
My mother remarried and unfortunately the guy turned out to be an alcoholic with
a bad temper. When he got drunk and dangerous, my mother would load us kids up in the station
wagon and go on an unexpected camping trip for a night. This was done for our safety, but we
seemed to make the best of it and had fun. On one of our camp outs, I caught
a trophy blue gill from the shore of Island Lake one afternoon. Hours later I had it weighed and won a
plaque.
ISLAND LAKE
I did many kinds of jobs growing up. I baby sat, cleaned cabins, picked up
sticks at the resort, hauled garbage, and cleaned up the fish house. I was always saving the money I
made in hopes of buying a horse one day. I enjoyed raking leaves and doing all kinds of yard
work. I probably learned this from my dad since he loved to do that kind of work on his days off.
I rarely got to see my dad and when my mother eventually divorced my step-father
we moved 60 miles away so I saw him even less. We moved to a 20 acre
farm out in the middle of nowhere so I finally got the
opportunity to buy a horse. I ended up with an untrained 2 year old Arabian
mare.
I quickly learned how to put up a barbed wire fence, stack and chop wood, how to
burn green wood and keep it going all through the night in the winter. I watched my younger
brother and sister after school. I was strong from hauling drinking water in milk cans and melting snow for washing and for the
horse to drink. It was a life of quiet serenity and I enjoyed it very much.
For short time, I moved into a cabin that my mother and I had fixed up on the
property. Here is a picture as it looks today.

CABIN

Sometimes the wolves would howl at night which sounded really neat. I was thrilled one morning to see one run
right by me. One night, a skunk sprayed under the cabin and the next morning I
smelled and so did all my clothes and everything else I owned. I had to go to
school and I guess my mom figured I would air out by the time I got there but it
didn't work. If anything, it was worse!! That has to be my most embarrassing
moment in my life!!
Our closest neighbor was a nice lady who lived about a mile away. She taught me many things and I will
forever be grateful to her for spending the time to listen and help me.
My dad died around this time which was the saddest thing. He lived so far away, I didn't see him much
the last year he was alive. After
his death at age 47, my mom lost the farm and we moved around a lot . This
affected my schooling since I was always changing schools! I remember
going to a new school for just one day, only to find out we were moving again!!
Being so shy, it was hard to be the new kid in a strange school over and over
again!
When we left the farm, the nice neighbor lady boarded my horse for a couple years
until I
could find a place for her. We eventually ended up back where we had started
from and I moved into my dad's camper. I had to find a place nearby
where I could afford to board my horse. It was rough trying to keep a horse boarded and
fed. I managed to do it and even bought a motorized scooter to get
me to my weekend job, since it was too far to bicycle to.
CAMPER
I was 16 when I moved into the small camper that my dad had lived in and I
learned very quickly one very cold winter why my dad kept his feet up off the
floor!! A camper is a cold place to live in northern Minnesota in the
winter and I went through about three 100 pound tanks of propane a month.
I eventually moved in with my sister and worked a couple jobs after school. A year later I graduated from high school
and got a full- time job.
I eventually had to find another place to keep my horse and soon found that I couldn't keep up with the expenses.
I ended up giving her
to some very nice people that could care for her. They were great and set up an agreement that I could have
first chance of buying her back if there daughter didn't want her someday.
That winter I ate a lot of popcorn in my apartment, felt stranded, and
got very depressed thinking there wasn't a whole lot to live for. I had sold my car after
getting a DWI and things just seemed to go from bad to worse.
It was by praying a lot that I got through this depression and back on my feet. Soon after I got an unbelievable house caretaker opportunity
that would help me considerably. I was able to start saving to buy a place to live. A year or so later, I met
Tom and he got my horse back for me and I still have her to this day. She
is now 25 years old and she still trots around.
I met Tom through an ad he placed in the local paper. He was looking for
someone with artistic talent to help him with his business. We were married just
over a year later. We took a week long honeymoon trip to Oklahoma and then
went over to Colorado so that I could see mountains for the first time in my
life. We are happily married and spend all of our time together. My next
goal is to see the ocean.
